I have mothers lined up. I live in Greensboro and nanny for a family in Burlington. I know that I can watch up to seven children on my own and the mother I work for now has offered her home. I was wondering about taxes and paperwork. If i do this it will be my only source of income and I will have to fill taxes. Any help would be great. Thanks

You need to contact your local Human Resources Office! They will have all the paper work and requirements! In my state, there are lots of restrictions and you also have to have training hours! Hope this helps!

You'll need to go to your local gov't office to obtain those forms. Start putting some money aside for tax time. Where I live, the deductions I pay total about 20% of my gross income. So put aside $100-200/paycheck wow, 7 kids! that's too many for 1 person to properly care for. I mean how could you safely take them outside unless it's a fenced-in backyard? Where I live, we're legally allowed a maximum of 5. Have you and your employer worked out the details, because that's a tricky situation. What will happen when these kids damage things in her home (trust me this will happen; carpet stains, crayon on the wall, her child's toys getting broken). Is she going to buy all the food and you reimburse her, or are you going to bring food over? What will you do if she changes her mind and you have to shut down your business?
